Leyland 4.4 V8 has a 88.9mm piston bore (3.5") with a 88.9mm stroke (3.5") making this a 'square' engine, The block deck height was extended and longer conrods were fitted 158.75 mm (6.250 in) between centres. Big end bearings remained the same as the 3.5 V8, Main bearings are larger at 2.5495" (compared to 2.2993" 3.5/3.9/4.2 V8 & 2.5" 4.0/4.6 V8)
